This original and extremely rare, black and white, borderless candid photograph of the great opera star Luciano Pavarotti is in excellent condition.
It is a candid photo taken in the lobby of the Metropolitan Opera House during a rehearsal for the filming of the 1982 movie

.  In the photo you can see this great artist and fellow actor in the movie Eddie Albert, as well as the camera and production crew.
THIS IS NOT A REPRINT – IT IS THE ACTUAL ORIGINAL PHOTO.
Its current owner patronized the Metropolitan Opera for years and has authorized me to auction it on their behalf.
We have started the bidding at what the collector and I felt was fair; but keep in mind, this rare candid photo is original and in excellent condition with an identification marking on the back.

Luciano Pavarotti
(October 12, 1935 – September 6, 2007)
His
major breakthrough in the United States came in 1972, in a production of Donizetti's
La Fille Du Régiment
at New York's Metropolitan Opera, in which he drove the crowd into a frenzy with his nine effortless high Cs in the signature aria, a feat for which he received a record 17 curtain calls! From then on he began to make frequent television performances, such as in his role as Rodolfo in the very first
Live From The Met
telecast in March of 1977, which attracted one of the largest audiences ever for a televised opera. He has won many Grammy awards and platinum and gold discs for his performances.
Eddie Albert
(April 22, 1906 – May 26, 2005) was an American actor and
activist. He was nominated for the
Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor
in 1954 for his performance in
Roman Holiday
, and in 1973 for
The Heartbreak Kid
.
Other well-known screen roles of his include Bing Edwards in the
Brother Rat
films, traveling salesman Ali Hakim in the musical
Oklahoma!
, and the corrupt prison warden in 1974's
The Longest Yard
. He starred as
Oliver Wendell Douglas
in the 1960s television
situation comedy
Green Acres
and as Frank MacBride in the 1970s

. He also had a recurring role as Carlton Travis on
