    Description

    We offer an original Ellinger of Salzburg postcard photograph of the Salzburger bass in his signature role, Baron Ochs and a 1931 program with Mayr as Ochs, with Clemens Krauss leads the Vienna Philharmonic and a cast including Viorica Ursulaec, Margit Angerer, Adele Kern, Hermann Wiedemann and Kolomon v. Pataky.
    Strauss and Hofmansthal wrote the role of Ochs for Mayr, but he was not released from his contract for the Dresden World Premiere.  He sung the Vienna, Paris, London and American Premieres however.
