Nice large group of vintage all original very rare and hard to find 1920's to 1950's Golden Age Of Opera operatic music photographs and ephemera. They are from the estate of Dorothy Crowthers who was the Editor-In-Chief Of The Baton magazine of The Institute Of Musical Art Of The Juilliard School Of Music from 1922 to 1932. These items are from Crowthers' own personal scrapbook that she created in the 20's/30's/40's. The items are on scrapbook pages and include a a 4-page pamphlet - "The Placement Bureau Of The Institute O Musical Art". Many 4 1/2" by 3" original photos from Granada, France, Spain, Algeria, Morocco, Greece, Italy, Yugoslavia, Portugal, Egypt, Japan, China, etc. One group of six 4 1/2" by 3" photos from the "Ravinia Opera" in Highland park, Illinois. A group of newspaper and magazine articles written by Crowthers that that include "Travel Notes", "Cruise On The Conte Grande", "Seeing Stars, The Baton,Yehudi Menuhin, Rethberg, Johnson, Boti, Pons, Goldmark and Scotti, "Lucrezia Bori" article, "Yehudi - Hail And Farewell" article, "Desert Victory, Gilmore Version" article, "The Opera House In The Woods, America's Festival Theatre At Ravinia" article and an "Edward Johnson" article. The items are in good to very good condition with some storage wear as pictured. I will be listing many other photos, ephemera, etc. from the estate some signed and some unsigned in the near future.
