Nice large group of vintage all original very rare and hard to find 1930's to 1950's Golden Age Of Opera operatic music photographs and ephemera. They are from the estate of Dorothy Crowthers who was the Editor-In-Chief Of The Baton magazine of The Institute Of Musical Art Of The Juilliard School Of Music from 1922 to 1932. One 8" by 10" glossy 1940's/1950's sepia style photo of Crowthers, Nena Benitez and another woman. Benitez was a Cuban opera critic and opera performer (I think) from Havana, Cuba. One 8" by 10" group photo of Crowthers, her mother Bertie, another woman and man on a cruise ship. One 5" by 7" group photo of many people in a grand ballroom. The 3 photos are in excellent condition. One 44 page magazine "The Baton, Dedication Issue Of The Juilliard School Of Music, John Erskine, President, November And December 1931, Vol. XI, Nos. 1 And 2, Dorothy Crowthers, Editor-In-Chief" with Erskine on the cover. The magazine in excellent complete condition with an editor's note on the cover as pictured - "History Of Juilliard School". One 1950s 1956 souvenir photo in a glossy 9 1/2" by 11" folder marked "The Plaza, New York" of Dorothy, Bertie Crowthers and two gentlemen. The back reads "J. Bess Studios, Hotel Plaza, New York 19, N. Y.". The cover shows some storage wear. The photo is in excellent condition. One 50s souvenir photo in a 9 1/2" by 11" folder marked "Photographed In The Persian Room Of The Plaza" of Dorothy Crowthers, Bertie Crowthers and two gentlemen with an inscription and signature autograph.
